I see daily how much violence there is in Iraq. I know many Iraqi's have lost loved ones. But please think about how many American's have lost loved one's there too.
We did not invade Iraq to conquer your country. We do not want your country. We have our own country. But we do want you to want a free country, a country that you can enjoy the freedoms that we enjoy.
I am a woman and I want the Iraqi women to be treated with respect, honor and love. I want the Iraqi girls to feel wanted and loved. I want them to know that they have eternal souls, and they are made in the image of God. They are worthy of honor, of love, of respect and appreciation. Some of the Iraqi women and girls already receive these, but many don't. I want Iraqi's to love your neighbor: to think of ways you can be a help to all women in Iraq.
I want for Iraq to be free to love and to not live in fear, I want for Iraqi orphans to be treated with love, respect and to also know they are worthy of compassion and loving help from neighborhoods - and if anyone knows of evil being done to Iraqi orphans or any neighbors, men or women, children - boys or girls, to speak out against the abuse.
This is to Iraqi women I am writing to. I want you to be able to love your husband and men in your family and to feel honored and appreciated for the love and kindness you perform for them. I don't want you to feel you have to do it out of fear or obligation, but I want you to want to care for your family and them truly appreciate you and are thankful for you and your good works that you do for your family.
I am asking for Iraqi women and girls to please respond to this note. I would really like to get to know you through conversation, heart to heart - no politics. Just woman to woman.
My heart breaks for you daily, but I am so thankful our US Troops are there. Have you tried to get to know any of them? I see stories daily also of their broken hearts due to things and situations in Iraq. I've seen the picture of a US soldier crying - totally heart broken - holding a dead child. Our men and women love. We in America strive to raise our children in love - teaching them to love even our enemy. If you are unaware of any of these stories - please let me know - I can direct you to many and with photos or video's to back them up.
Please, please give our honorable troops a chance. These are men and women that have very compassionate hearts and want to do good works in your country and for you - the Iraqi people. It is so easy to hate - that seems to be human nature, But it's hard work to love and care for those around us...Please endeavor to do the hard work - look for ways you can show care and compassion. With both: you the Iraqi's and us the American's we can become friends - good friends - friends that enjoy each other and care for each other and build lasting deep relationships for eternity.
My name is Twana Blevins from the United States
I will be checking back to this site often hoping and praying to build a bond with some Iraqi women and children.
